The first part of this page is for organizers, who use the app. The second part is for guests, who get an invite.
Adding guests
- Add a guest with a name. An email address and phone number are optional.
- Tap "From contacts" to fill in a guest from your phone's contacts.
- For a group, set the party size. Choose one QR code for the whole party, or one per person with each person's name.
- Everyone you add is saved in your guest book, so you can add them to a later event in one go.
Sending invites
Each guest's invite is a link or an image:
- A link opens the guest's own invite page, with the event details, a reply form and their QR code.
- An image is the invite as a picture with the QR code on it. It has no reply form; the guest shows it at the door.
"Send invites" emails every link guest who has an email address. The email comes from your name via Invite In, and if a guest answers it, the reply goes to the email address on your account. Everyone else, and every image guest, you share yourself: the app opens your phone's share options for each guest in turn, for example to send it on WhatsApp, and asks whether you sent it.
Replies, reminders and changes
- Replies appear in the guest list as going, maybe or can't. You can set a reply for a guest yourself.
- A guest's timeline shows when their invite was emailed or shared, whether the email was delivered or bounced, and when their invite page was opened.
- If you set a capacity and the event is full, guests who reply going are put on a waitlist. When a place opens up, the next person on the waitlist gets it and is emailed.
- About a day before the event, guests with an email address who received their invite and replied going or maybe get a reminder email.
- When you change the time or place, the app asks whether to tell guests. If you cancel the event, guests with an email address who received their invite and did not reply "can't" are emailed.
- Six months after an event ends, it is deleted with its guest list, history and photos. Your guest book stays.
At the door
- Open the event's door screen and scan guests' QR codes with the camera. You can also find a guest by name.
- Before the day of the event, the door runs in test mode: scans show the real result, but nobody is checked in.
- Add walk-ins at the door if the event allows them. You can require a phone number or email address for walk-ins.
- A scan can be undone if it was a mistake.
- The door keeps working without internet once door mode has been opened with a connection: scans are saved on the phone and sent when it is back online. Admit anyway needs a connection.
Co-hosts and door helpers
In the event's settings, "Invite co-host" and "Invite helper" create a join link to send to someone. Co-hosts help run the event and see the guest list. Door helpers only scan guests in and do not see the guest list. Each of them signs in with their own account.
Free and Pro
- Free: up to 30 people per event (a party of four counts as four), one door helper, and "Made with Invite In" on invite pages.
- Pro, monthly or yearly, for all your events: no guest limit, your own invite design, more door helpers, re-entry and ID checks at the door, and no Invite In branding.
- Unlock this event: a one-time purchase that gives one event the Pro features.
Purchases go through the App Store or Google Play. On a new phone, use "Restore purchases" in the app. Cancel Pro in the App Store (Settings, Subscriptions) or in Google Play.
Deleting your account
In the app, go to Account and tap "Delete account". Your events, guest lists and guest book are deleted, and guests' invite links stop working. A Pro subscription is not cancelled by this: cancel it in the store. Without the app, email info@debruinesolutions.com from the address on your account and we delete it for you.
You got an invite
Someone you know invited you to their event and used Invite In to send it. You do not need an account or the app. For questions about the event, contact the person who invited you; if your invite came by email, you can usually reply to it to reach them.
Replying
Open your invite link and choose Going, Maybe or Can't. For a group, say how many of you are coming. You can change your reply on the same page until the reply deadline, if there is one. If the event is full, you are put on the waitlist and get an email if a place opens up.
Your QR code
Your invite page shows your QR code under "Show this at the door". Show it on your phone when you arrive; a screenshot works too. If your invite is an image, the QR code is on the image. The code is personal: anyone with your link can open your invite, so only share it with people in your party.
Removing your details
At the bottom of your invite page, "Remove my details" removes your email address and phone number from your invite, from the record of emails we sent you and from the organizer's guest book. Your invite still works at the door, and you get no more emails from Invite In about this event. The privacy policy lists exactly what is and is not removed.
Reporting an invite
If an invite is spam, abusive or pretends to be from someone else, use "Report this invite" at the bottom of the invite page. A person at Invite In looks at every report. If we take an event down, its invite pages stop working and the organizer gets an email explaining why.
